Nuru Bio connects research partners globally to biobanks and research institutions in Tanzania. We streamline the process for sample acquisition and facilitate collaborations between research partners.
Africa is the world's second-largest continent, individuals of African ancestry represent only 2% of genomic data worldwide.

Reduced Equity
This imbalance reduces the validity and equity of biomedical breakthroughs, limiting life-saving discoveries for billions.
We ensure samples collected and the process adheres to institutional, national and international standards
We collaborate, vet and verify partners on both ends, ensuring a fair exchange and a reliable process.
Supply chain management from sample source to destination, reducing researcher burden.
Nuru Bio connects researchers with biological samples from African populations to enhance research validity and inclusivity. Although the second largest continent, individuals of African ancestry represent only 2% of genomic wide association studies data, highlighting a significant gap in data representation.
Nuru Bio streamlines and secures the acquisition of such samples by partnering with local institutions, thereby removing the logistical complexities and uncertainties that have previously hindered access. We are committed to ensuring that access to clinical samples is not a limitation to biomedical progress while fostering equal partnership between parties outside the continent and institutions in Africa, and showcasing technical capabilities of African health systems
These core principles guide every aspect of our work and define our commitment to excellence, ethics, and global collaboration.
We care about the quality of human clinical samples
